Gone For Long
Serge El Helou is a Lebanese composer, multi-instrumentalist, and music therapist whose work bridges Middle Eastern and Western traditions. Born in Beirut, he began mastering the guitar, piano, and percussion at an early age. He studied Musicology in Lebanon under the mentorship of renowned composer Toufic Succar.
Serge furthered his musical journey in Paris, earning a degree in Music Therapy at René Descartes University and an Orchestration diploma from the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory. He later obtained a Master’s degree in Music Therapy in the United States.
With extensive experience as a composer, music educator, and choir director, Serge has created music for children’s plays, films, and documentaries. His compositions have been performed by orchestras in Philadelphia, New York,
and New Jersey.
Serge’s distinctive cross-cultural style blends Western and Middle Eastern instrumentation, melodies, and rhythmic structures, creating a rich, hybrid sound that resonates with audiences worldwide.
